Today we have a custom battle on a mod called Rise and Fall for Mount & Blade: Warband. This is a 200 man Cavalry only battle. We were trying to recreate the Cavalry battle from the Kingdom of Heaven movie. In the First 2 rounds the Knights of Apollo fight as the Crusaders. And Then we switch to the Saracens. Why would you use a sword over a pole arm in the initial cavalry charge? Not judging just genuinely curious because if I remember lances and pikes are far more effective on horseback over sword at least in the initial charge.
