How To Backup And Backup WordPress From Cpanel

In this tutorial, I will show you how to backup WordPress from Cpanel and then how to restore it.
You can use plugins to do this as well, but there are two reasons why it’s good to know other ways to back up.
First, many backup plugins are limited by the file size they will backup for free. If your site is larger than the limit you’ll have to get the Pro version of the plugin.
Second, I believe it’s always best to know how things work before you look for the “easy way” to do things because the “easy way” doesn’t always work.

Hey man, love your content. Can you do a vid on hosting WordPress on Google Cloud Platform? I'm still trying to figure out the difference between backing up a site, taking a snap shot and taking a machine image. And which to do to automate simple backup of all website data using Google Cloud Platform. This video doesn't exist yet.

Thank you for this great tutorial. Does anyone has the answer: Why do I have 2 databases for the same whensite? In my wp-config.php file reads, that one database is "name" and the other "username".
Thank you in advance for your reply.

First of all KUDOS for an amazing channel full of easy to follow and super useful information 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I have a question after watching the video, is it possible to use the same technique to clean a site that's been hacked? Can I zip download all the site and Database to my desktop computer, run a malware scan and after is cleaned, upload it again? Is that possible? Would it work? Thank you for all the great work you share with us ✨✨✨

My file manager does not support compress/extract zip files. How do I backup and restore? Also there is a 10MB per file limit for download/upload.

can you make a video on how to update WordPress via Cpanel while not losing your content. For example, if you need to update WordPress manually for trouble shooting purposes.

Great video! You mentioned uploading file sizes that are bigger than the max limit. I'm currently facing that issue and it's been a thorn on my foot. I want to transfer a website to another hoster which is siteground, but the max I can upload is 512 MG. However my file is 750MG, please can you advise me on how to solve this without having to pay extra money? Thanks

Great tutorial, thanks! For those who were over about 50% of disk capacity like, me, you'll have to zip and download and delete zip folders in smaller chunks. Or delete some files. I had some large old backup files on my server disk that I downloaded and then deleted. Made all the difference!

I did everything you did but my website still is not coming back :/ … could I be doing something wrong? I switched hosting from Hostgator to Google domains. Google domains makes you use bluehost in order to create your website when hostgator just lets you download wordpress. So i'm not sure if there's any extra steps since i have gone from hostgator to GoogleD.

Is there a way I might be able to extract and view posts from a backup file without actually restoring? My website was reconfigured and its contents were not put back in but I have the backup file and want to be able to browse through the backup files. Is there a way to do this?
