There are many different sources of cartridge games cases, let’s take a closer look at one that caught my eye: the cases designed and made by Custom Game Cases.

At 11:54 I point out what I assumed was a minor print quality problem. It has since been pointed out to me that these lines are a part of the original box’s art aesthetic ( that I had forgotten about. I apologize for my error. Thankfully that means I found no other quality control issues in these cases! Thank you.

I really hope to be able to take a look at other brands of game cases in the future. My bottom line at the time of this video’s production is as follows. Most blank plastic cases can be sourced for a dollar or under, especially when purchased in bulk. Custom Game Cases are quite a bit more expensive than just a generic Universal Game Case. What can you expect for that extra expense? Ideally, the quality and design of each of these cases are superior to less expensive offerings. I can’t yet compare the differences between brands, but I can vouch for the build quality and the design of each case shown. Secondly, one thing that I’ve learned from my DIY videos is that some people are more comfortable buying a completed product that they don’t have to customize themselves. In that respect, Custom Game Cases would be a better choice than unlabeled UGC’s. And their finished and labeled upgrade is only a pittance more than buying an unlabeled Custom Game Case.
Buying cases for a cartridge collection is a high-end way to display your games. I can easily justify the expense of any of these cases on a singular basis, but to do a whole collection (through Custom Game Cases) would be a massive expense, and expense that I can’t personally justify at my income and savings level. But as I stated, I have every intention of picking up a small number of these for a variety of handheld games and for my Virtual Boy games. I won’t be getting any NES, SNES, or N64 cases. My Master System / Genesis collection is thankfully already CIB, other than Zero Tolerance and Virtua Racing.
I am aware of a few different brands of cases. Let me know if there is one that you’d like me to try to take a look at.

Do original Famicom games fit in any of these cases? I use CustomGameCases exclusively for cartridges so I've been trying to figure out which case best holds Famicom stuff, thanks!

Ordered around 50 of these from this site for my recently started N64 collection and have been very happy with them but was wondering how these look for the Genesis which is my next project. Thanks a ton for going in depth for each case you've definitely helped me make my decision!

if i have the sonic and knuckles cart will it fit in the case? or do they have a certain design in the box that will allow only that certain type of cart to fit?

I feel that the original protective cases are part of the "complete" game. I'm not a boxed collector but i do like having all the paperwork and any original dust covers. I'm reluctant to buy these because i don't want to keep boxes of original protectors set aside, i wish they made cases that accommodated all that so i could keep it all together. Do you have any thoughts on that?

I got one N64 case to check it out and was disappointed. It ended up breaking after taking the cart out too many times.

I wonder are you having issues with the website? I can’t seem to visit it cause it can’t connect to the server which is a shame honestly is this just me? Or is this widespread?

Late in the video, I originally pointed out what I assumed was a minor print quality problem. It has since been brought to my attention that these lines are a part of the original box's art aesthetic (https://zelda.gamepedia.com/File:Oracleofages.jpg ) that I had forgotten about. I apologize for my error and removed this portion of the video. Thankfully that means I found no other quality control issues in these cases! Thank you.

I'd would like to buy those cases with no covers in bulk, but haven't been able to find them in bulk.

Nice video. You should take a look at https://www.retroprotection.com/ for case protectors for other games like Sega saturn long boxes.

While I'm unable to get the UniKeep cases due to painfully-calculated shipping rates, it seems like I am able to get these ones looking at those promising price totals. I'll consider getting a few of them soonish.
PS: I made the 100th like! (And no downvotes)

Aw man, why'd you show me these? Knowing I don't HAVE to mod DS cases makes my lazy butt want to go this route instead. lol I still may price some out because I really dig the custom colors of the GG and VB games; that's nice!

I actually bought one of the GBA cases for my copy of Spyro 2: Season of Flame, and I really love the quality of it! It's just a shame it's kinda pricy to have one sent to somewhere outside of the US.

I can attest to the GB cases as I have bought a few in the past as I like to have cases for the GB games I own that I also have the manual for so I can keep them together.

I really like the CGC cases I got for my GB/GBC/GBA games. I didn't know they made Game Gear. I'll have to grab some of those! I've been tempted to switch to CGC for my NES because UGC cases have to be modified, but it's an expensive upgrade. I do like that CGC has clips for the manuals, though. I hope coverproject keeps adding more art for CGC cases. Thanks for the video!

I have bought some GBC and GBA cases that are just like the ones in the videos. For my copy of Yoshi's Topsy Turvy I used a European DS case to hold it, and even made a custom case art that fits this case size. You can use that here (btw this account is inactive now if you're wondering): https://www.deviantart.com/lorenzsandi/art/Yoshi-Topsy-Turvy-NTST-cover-art-remastered-741382278
