The Chuck E. Cheese Old Arcade Games series features older unique arcade games that may now be hard to find. I am filming them in order to preserve the memories and history.
Brave Firefighters was an arcade game released in 1999 by SEGA. It was the first game to use the Sega Hikaru system, which allowed it to have some of the most advanced graphics possible at the time. It was also the first arcade game to use Phong Shading, an advanced shading technique commonly used in today’s video games. The goal of this game was to put out fires and save trapped people. This game was controlled by with a unique fire hose controller. SEGA put a lot of care into this hose as it “replicates the weight, grip and control of a real fire hose”. The player could even twist the tip of the hose to “control the shape of the spray from a light mist to a strong spray”.
